What is Spravato?

SPRAVATO is an FDA-approved prescription nasal spray used in conjunction with an oral anti-depressant (or more recently as a single agent) to alleviate depressive symptoms in adults with treatment-resistant depression and major depressive disorder.

SPRAVATO is ONLY available at certified SPRAVATO treatment centers under the supervision of a healthcare provider such as Mindwell.

Am I a Candidate for Spravato?

A low dose of Spravato will be administered via intranasal spray. After five minutes another small dose will be administered. After your provider will monitor you for a two-hour waiting period. We encourage you to wear eyeshades, listen to relaxing music, and focus inward during this time.

Treatment is initiated with 6 infusions given over a 2 week time period. Upon completion of the 3rd infusion, an assessment will be performed to ensure you are responding and should continue with the therapy. Research has indicated an astounding 70% of treatment-resistant depression patients experience relief and functional improvement.

During this process, and throughout your care with MindWell, Dr. Motley will update and consult with your primary mental healthcare provider and you will continue to follow their guidance.

Spravato is usually covered by insurance. The best way to find out is to call us. We work with each patient’s insurer to receive as much reimbursement as possible for treatments and keep therapy as affordable as possible. Contact us and we will work with your carrier to determine your eligibility.
